Growing up as a competitive athlete, Mary-Lauren Shelton, RDN, LD, CEDRD has extensive personal and professional experience working with athletes to fuel their bodies for peak performance. Studies show that many of the traits that are instrumental in an athlete being successful in their sport can also contribute to the development of an eating disorder or disordered eating. Eating disorders and disordered eating can not only make an athlete less competitive, but it puts the athlete at an increased risk for injury, permanent damage to their bodies, and could be life-threatening. Mary-Lauren works with athletes at all levels in Aesthetic sports (dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders, swimmers, figure skaters), Endurance sports (cross country running, cycling, triathlon), Weight Class sports (jockeys, wrestlers, boxers, and martial arts), Performing Artists, and Others (equestrian, tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, golf).

Mary-Lauren Shelton, RDN, LD, CEDRD previously worked with clients at Center For Discovery in Addison, Texas as an eating disorder Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the PHP/IOP (Partial Hospitalization/ Intensive Outpatient) setting, Eating Disorder Solutions in Dallas, TX as a contract eating disorder Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the residential setting, and also at Medical City Green Oaks Psychiatric Hospital in Dallas, Texas as a Clinical Dietitian Nutritionist in the inpatient setting.
